Refund & Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. This policy outlines the cancellation and refund terms for reservations made through Camp Ope.

1. Guest Cancellations

Standard Cancellation Windows

7+ days before check-in: Full refund of the reservation amount.
3-6 days before check-in: 50% refund of the reservation amount.
Less than 3 days before check-in: No refund.
No-shows: No refund.

Note: Individual campground operators may have their own cancellation policies that differ from the standard windows above. The campground's specific policy, if any, will be displayed at the time of booking and takes precedence.

2. How to Cancel

To cancel a reservation:

  1. Log in to your Camp Ope account
  2. Go to My Trips
  3. Find your reservation and select Cancel Reservation
  4. Confirm the cancellation

3. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days.
  • Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at booking.
  • Your bank may take additional time to reflect the refund in your account.

4. Campground-Initiated Cancellations

If a campground operator cancels your reservation (due to maintenance, weather closures, or other reasons), you will receive a full refund regardless of timing. We will notify you immediately by email and assist with rebooking if desired.

5. Early Departures

If you check out earlier than your scheduled departure date, refunds for unused nights are at the discretion of the campground operator. Contact the campground directly to discuss early departure refunds.

6. Exceptional Circumstances

We may offer full refunds outside the standard cancellation windows in cases of:

  • Documented medical emergencies
  • Natural disasters or severe weather making travel unsafe
  • Government-issued travel restrictions
  • Death in the immediate family

Requests for exceptional circumstance refunds must be submitted with supporting documentation to support@campope.com.

7. Subscription Cancellations (Campground Operators)

Campground operators on paid subscription plans (Trailhead, Basecamp) may cancel their subscription at any time:

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • You retain access to paid features until the end of the billing period.
  • No pro-rated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
  • Your campground listing remains on the platform on the Free tier after cancellation.

8. Disputes and Chargebacks

We encourage guests and campground operators to resolve disputes directly through the platform or by contacting our support team. If you initiate a chargeback through your bank without first contacting us, we reserve the right to suspend your account pending investigation.
